Our MaltiPoo loves this toy, and we like it because we can hold onto one end, while he tugs at the other. He loves to fetch toys and will bug us to throw them in the house just so that he can run off to get them and bring them back. However he will always offer some token resistance to us taking it back from him to throw it again, and this is where the two ends are helpful, because he bites that, and not your hand. It's tough and durable to his sharp little teeth, but the outer covering does eventually start to fray - exacerbated by being covered in his saliva over time (eww). The last one lasted him about a year before we decided it was time to buy a new one. These toys are well constructed and my dog loves them! I have to order online as the local stores don't seem to carry them. My dog likes to instantly dis-assemble and unstuff his toys (most not even lasting 5 minutes); however, this toy really lasts for months! He has only chewed the nose off of the pig, the rest works great. He currently has the lion (still intact) and the pig (sans his nose); both of which we've probably had about a year now. The first tug-a-mal was a frog which he finally got the internal squeaker ball out of, and he still loves to play with that. Best money I ever spent on a dog toy... Highly recommend to even the most aggressive dog toy destroyers. Pay attention to the size you are buying, the jumbo is appropriate for most medium to large dogs. The smaller sizes are pretty small. My dogs love this toy. It's durable, they can play with it together. It's great for playing tug. It seems to have multiple squeakers in it so it makes this weird distorted squeak which drives them nuts. I hope it holds up.My dogs LOVE these double ended squeak toys. They can play tug of war and the squeaker is excellent...I have dogs that toss aside toys that don't squeak. I bought 2 Jolly tug toys for their christmas present. They love playing with them. The stuffed animal is such a cute alternative to the plain toy. My dogs love both styles. Our German Shepherd had this toy and overtime it needed replaced. The one order was an exact duplicate of the one she loved to play with but smaller than indicated in the picture. I should have ordered the larger one.My golden retriever puppy loves this toy. It is large (not too large), and very sturdy. The squeaker is in the head and won't"squeak" when a dog bites it. It is meant to squeak when vigorously involved in a game of tug. She hasn't chewed it to pieces yet. But it is a play toy, not a chew toy. Definitely great for a game of tug.On our second one. The way our little terrier pulls, tears and chews at these things, it lasted a LONG five months before one of the tug ropes was fully exposed. My dogs love these toys. They don't last long, and I go through about 3-4 per month between two Dogs.We have a small toy poodle mix (about 10lbs) and he loves this toy. We got him the small pig, and it's a great size for him. He throws it up in the air to catch, loves the squeak, and loves to tug. It seems like okay quality but we'll see.
