I bought two of these when I lost my two cats (both to old age and illness) and couldn't get more cats because I was moving. They were company until I was able to get two kittens. Now I'm using the robot cats as "guard" cats to keep the kittens away from places they shouldn't go. The robot cats react to the kittens by meowing, purring, rolling over - all the ways they react to me. Because the kittens are only 6 weeks old they are frightened of these much bigger cats so they won't go near them. So far the robot cats have stopped the kittens for going behind the TV and messing with the cords and kept them from going under the recliner.Oh thank you so much for my first baby. :-) I love her. :-) I am so in love with her and I started to take care of her not too long ago and as soon as I got her I started to take care of her and I’ve been taking care of her since I got her today. :-) She means the world to me. :-) I’m very satisfied with the way she came. :-) I can’t wait to order cats from you again. :-) You’re satisfied customer Katie. :-)OMG, 10 Stars! This is a miracle in a box! I have to care for my 93 year old mother who is suffering with Alzheimer's. Things have been getting pretty bad for her with hallucinations and paranoid delusions. Here good days were when she would stare blankly at the TV. As soon as she opened the box (I already turned it on) everything changed! Her eyes lit up so much, you could just see the happiness. She thinks it's real. She's been petting it, hugging it and using the brush that came with it. She pets and brushes it until she falls asleep and when she wakes up again, she starts all over. In less than 24hrs she has become totally attached to it. It's really hard dealing with Alzheimer's and it's like a great weight has been lifted off of me just seeing her happy again. God bless Joy for All.We purchased the Silver Cat for our sister who suffers from Parkinson's and dementia. She lives in a nursing home and misses our (living) cat so much. She absolutely loves this cat, her "Gracie Cat" and loves to hold her and talk to her. We find it is very helpful at soothing her when she gets anxious or is feeling lonely. The cat is beautiful, fur is soft, though the body of the cat is rather firm it's not troublesome at all, and provides just the right amount of stimulation with meowing, purring and movement. The cat does make a "mechanical clicking sound when the head turns, but it is not overly loud. Overall it's worth every penny, though I wish it cost a little less. Even the other residents in the nursing facility love to visit with Gracie Cat.I feel like these are over priced, but it is a great item for the elderly. My mother is in a nursing home and misses her cats very much. She knows this isn't a real cat, but she cuddles it and talks to it all the time. Her comment "You don't know how much this helps me."I was skeptical to buy this as a companion after my last cat passed away. I have had a fur baby by my side my entire 58 years. This cat gets softer the more you pet her and she will meow when you turn on the lights! The purring and mechanical movements are very soothing. I find myself meowing back at her just like I did with my real cats! I'm now stocking up on C cells instead of kitty litter! And she doesn't barf on everything! I really love this cat and highly recommend her as a companion for people that just can't take care of a little living cat anymore. Thank you to this company for providing a sweet little kitty to this aging woman that needed a little companion without all the work. I just wish she could follow me around and trip me up in the kitchen while I was cooking and that would be perfect! Otherwise a 10/10!My dad has Alzheimers and started asking my mom about a cat that didn't exist. We decided to get this toy cat and see if it would be something he could enjoy. Lo and behold, he did! He's never been a pet person, but this cat, he'll put on his walker and take around the house. The cat's purrs and responses to movement/ light are cute and real enough to make my dad feel like he has his own cat. The little moves to "lick" its paw were adorable. All in all, for the money, this was very much worth the smiles from my dad that we hadn't seen in a while.Using it to give comfort to a home bound personThey can talk to it and it purrs, meows, licks it’s pawAlmost roll over. Opens and close its eye. Have shared it with several people who have not heard about a therapeutic catMy 88 year old mum, who has moderate Alzheimer’s, absolutely loves this cat, and really enjoys stroking it to make it purr and miaow. She insists that all visitors say hello to it. Everyone else considers it rather creepy, with its glassy green eyes, its hard plastic ears and paw pads, and the loud miaow which sounds like a person pretending to be a cat. Not to mention the noticeable whirring of the mechanism while the cat is moving. Luckily my mum is very deaf!First of all the product arrived with the box completely open which I put down to the sorting office as I am told this has happened before. However, the cat is not at all life like, feels like a hard shell instead of soft and cuddly and only does 4 things. For the money it is a completely overpriced in my opinion as I expected much more. A friend had one which was way better than this one and nobody in the household thought much of it; that includes 2 dogs, 1 cat and 3 young children. While it may be useful for those suffering with dementia the price may be restrictive for those with a disability. Further the electronic whirring and clicking of the device is loud and irritating. I would NOT recommend.I sent this back the very next day. I wanted another cat after losing my last one, but hubby wasn’t keen. After many discussions and lots of tears I looked for a realistic cat toy instead. This came and I was really excited, all the reviews were brilliant and I thought it was the answer. Unfortunately it wasn’t. The meow is too loud and frequent for a real cat and the purr is ok but a bit like a motor running. However when put on mute (so no meow but still purring) it was better. The main thing for me was the clunky noises each time the cat moved and the gaps in the fur (neckline, ears etc where you could feel the mechanics of the cat. Not for me I’m afraid, it didn’t feel worth the money. Another layer of something over the mechanism and leather paw pads and nose could add to the realism. I’m very disappointed as I’m still searching for a solution to my problem. My mother wanted a real cat, but as she has dementia she wouldn't be able to look after one. This comes a close second. To me his face isn't very realistic and his coat is a bit harsh and he feels a bit bony. Also, he clicks and whirrs a bit. However,my mother adores him and strokes him a lot. His actions and voice are realistic and sometimes he miaows or yawns even when you are not near to him, which makes him seem even more realistic.I am so glad I bought him for her and would recommend him for dementia sufferers or elderly who are lonely.
